CASE # 1 <br />RECEIVE QUOTES FOR THE REMOVAL OF CONCRETE RUBBLE AND <br />MISCELLANEOUS DEBRIS ON MAKENS PROPERTY <br />By: Brian E. Olson, City Engineer <br />Background: <br />The construction of 143 Avenue NW between Jaspar Street NW and County Road 116 started <br />early this Spring and will continue and be completed by the end of the summer. During the <br />construction of the facilities that would enable development to occur in Gateway Industrial Park <br />' No. 5, we uncovered approximately 7650 c.y. of concrete rubble and 3,490 c.y. of miscellaneous <br />debris that needs to be moved and ultimately requires disposal. <br />Quotes were received from four local Contractors and ranged from $40,520 $111,140. A <br />summary of the quotes is as follows: <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br />Sauter & Sons, Inc. $40,520.00 <br />Erickson Construction $66,814.50 <br />Wickenhauser Excavating, Inc. $80,000.00 <br />Veit & Company, Inc. $111,140.00 <br />Engineers Estimate $45,000.00 <br />The quote submitted from Sauter & Sons, Inc. is below the.engineer's estimate and appears to be <br />a responsive quote.
