PC CASE # I <br />RECEIVE INFORMATION ABOUT RETIREMENT OF PATROL OFFICER AND <br />AUTHORIZE RECRUITMENT OF REPLACEMENT PATROL OFFICER <br />Rhonda Heryla, Human Resources Manager <br />Background: <br />On April 30, 2001, Patrol Officer Jeff Arneson notified the Police Chief that he plans to retire from the <br />Ramsey Police Department on or before June 30, 2001. (A copy of Officer Arneson's letter is <br />attached.) Officer Arneson's retirement will create .a vacancy in the Police Department, and staff <br />would like authorization to begin recruitment to fill his position. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends authorizing the recruitment of a new patrol officer to fill the vacancy created by <br />Officer Arneson's retirement. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion to recommend City Council authorize staff to begin recruitment of a new patrol officer <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Police Chief <br />Finance Officer <br />PC: 5/8/01 <br />-127- <br />
