—94— <br />3 -20 -91 <br />Staff sends letter to Permit Holder regarding acceptance of other <br />metals from general public being a violation of CUP <br />4 -2 -91 <br />Permit Holder applies for an amendment to CUP to permit <br />disassembly of engines and transmissions like their competitor (Alloy <br />Recovery) and site plan approval for a building expansion on Lot 1 to <br />provide space for this additional activity. Planning Commission <br />recommended approval and at the Permit Holder's request, this case <br />was tabled until July of 1992.. <br />4 -23 -91 <br />Staff issued another letter to Permit Holder regarding accepting metals <br />from general public like a redemption center, which is in violation of <br />CUP. <br />5 -9 -91 <br />Neighbor complaint that facility is accepting steel in addition to <br />aluminum <br />9 -7 -91 <br />Anonymous complaint that copper and other toxic metals are being <br />processed at the site; fire chief inspects ash and finds no evidence of <br />copper, plastic, rubber or toxics. <br />8 -27 -91 <br />Staff contacted Permit Holder about an ad in the Elk River Star stating <br />Danny's accepts metals from the general public; this is a violation of <br />CUP. <br />11 -22 -91 <br />Staff contacted Permit Holder about another article in Elk River Star <br />regarding acceptin metals fr om general public. <br />12 -20 -91 <br />Neighbor complaint of storage of materials outside the screened area. <br />3 -5 -92 <br />Anonymous complaint regarding excessive smoke. <br />3 -17 -92 <br />IR — officer received complaint from neighboring property owner <br />regarding debris from Danny's facility in the ditch and boulevard. <br />Staff directed Permit Holder to police right -of -way immediately. <br />3 -25 -92 <br />IR — officer receive anonymo complaint of excessive smoke. <br />4 -13 -92 <br />IR — officer receives complaint from neighbor that Permit Holder is <br />allowing loading and unloading operations in the public street. <br />4 -13 -92 <br />IR — officer observes excessive smoke in the area. <br />5 -4 -92 <br />IR — officer obs erves fire in processing yard. <br />5 -13 -92 <br />Staff meets with Permit Holder regarding recent IR's. <br />5 -22 -92 <br />Neighbor complaint regarding storage of materials outside the <br />screened area. (A truck delivering materials could not fit into the <br />yard; materials was dumped in access and bobcat was scooping <br />material up off the access and depositing it into the processing area. <br />5 -28 -92 <br />IR — officer received complaint of excessive smoke. <br />6 -92 <br />Permit Holder reactivates request for CUP amendment to permit the <br />disassembly and processing of engines and transmissions in a new <br />building to be constructed on Lots 2 and 3 versus an expansion of the <br />existing building on Lot l; and also to permit acceptance of other non- <br />hazardous metals in addition to aluminum. <br />9 -3 -92 <br />Neighbor complains of unloading operations in public right of way <br />9 -17 -92 <br />IR — officer observes excessive smoke. <br />—94— <br />
