August 25, 1987 - City Council votes unanimously to hold an <br />advisory election."on the issue of airport zoning. <br />2. O::toboer 13, 1987 - Council unanimously passes airport safety <br />zoning. Mayor Remann states that if the people want to vote on <br />an issue, they should have to petition for that right. <br />3... N:>vember, 1987 - Petition submitted by Ramsey Action Committee <br />found to be insufficient. <br />4. December, 1987 - With a Christmas Eve deadline, Ramsey Action <br />Committee sui:mits UPdate: petition with ample corrections. <br />5. January 12, 1987 - Council decides to have airport referendum <br />election on April 19" 1986. Councilmember Cox suggests adding the <br />issue of fire department to same ballot; Council unanimously <br />agrees. <br />6. April 17, 1988 - Ramsey Action Camnittee is forced to remove all <br />'vote no' signs fran all City, County or State property; being <br />told that if said signs were not removed pranptly, they woule be <br />removed ane destroyed by City employees. When askec ",'hy others, <br />such as realtors, have signs on most street corners, we were told <br />that each case is treated individually.
