<br /> <br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Discussion Of Mississiooi River Crossing And Proposed <br />Realigrunent Of County,RDadNo.83: <br /> <br />Per the Commission's direction, the City Engineer's drawing of the pro~sed <br />alignment for a Mississippi River bridge crossing and real ignment of Cty. <br />Road #83 were available for review. <br /> <br />Chainnan Greenberg noted that at the May 25, 1988 joint meeting between <br />Planning and Zoning and the Econanic Developnent Commission, a motion was <br />passed to recorrnrend that City Council approve the concept and develop right- <br />of-w~y for the Mississippi River bridge crossing west of Foster Island to <br />align in Ramsey between Cty. Roads #56 and #83, realign the interesection <br />of Cty. Rd. #83 and Hwy. #10 further east and extend Cty. Rd. #83 to <br />intersect with County Roads #5, #24 and #47 through Burns. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg stated that he has discussed the realignment with <br />Conunissioner Haas and the City of Burns; they are in favor of the concept. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that the realignment of Cty. Road #83 would <br />eliminate the need to realign the railroad tracks. <br /> <br />Case #4: Discussion Regarding City Brochure: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris noted that there are less than 500 city brochures remaining. <br /> <br />~IDtion by Commissioner Hardin and seconded by Commissioner Fults directing <br />the Publicity Subcommittee to review the existing City brochure and report <br />back to the Economic Development Commission with recommendations for <br />UJ;dating. <br /> <br />l-btion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Vevea, <br />Fults, Muller, Hardin and Ippel. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners <br />Wagner, Kurak and Gorecki. <br /> <br />Case #5: Discussion Reaardina Atlas Incinerators, Inc.'s Proposal: <br /> <br />Chainnan Greenberg noted that the Planning and Zoning Cormnission conducted <br />a public hearing on June 7 regarding Atlas' request for a conditional use <br />permit for the contract burn ~rtion of their proposed facility. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Ippel and seconded by Commissioner Vevea to <br />recorrnrend that City Council approve Atlas Incinerators, Inc.' s request for <br />a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Chainnan Greenberg directed that Mr. Nils Sundquist be <br />contacted to be sure his concerns with Atlas's request have been resolved. <br />Commissioner Ippel noted that Atlas has been very open and informative <br />during the whole process. Cornl'Pissioner Hardin stated that it is premature <br />for EDC to recommend approval of a conditional use permit that Planning and <br />Zoning has not completely reviewed and made recommendations oni inquired if <br />County Commissioner Haas Steffen's comments at the June 7 publ ic hear ing <br />have been incor~rated into the conditional use permit.
