<br />Motion by Councilmember S orteberg and sec onded by Counci lmember Cox to <br />introduce Ordinance 188-X amending the City Charter relating to filing for <br />office. <br /> <br />''"") <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley noted that if the ordinance is adopted, it <br />will not be effective in time for the 1988 election; it is his intention to <br />follow filing dates that comply with State law. <br /> <br />Motioon carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Counci1members Sorteberg, <br />Cox, DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #10: Lower Rum River Mana~ement Or~Bnization: <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley reported that the Lower Rum River Management Organization is <br />requesting that Anoka County adopt an ordinance to limit the size and/or <br />speed of boats and motors on the lower Rum River to reduce erosion of the <br />river bank. Anoka County is soliciting input from all City Councils <br />adjacent to the lower Rum River. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to <br />indicate to Anoka County, Ramsey" s suppor t of an ordinance to 1 imit the <br />size and/or speed of boats and motors on the lower Rum River. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Y~yor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca and Pearson. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Council scheduled a special meeting for July 19, 1988 at 7:30 p.m. for the <br />purpose of reviewing the Lower Rum River Y~nagement plan. <br /> <br />) Case #11: Report From Personnel Committee: <br />_..,,<! <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann reported that the Personnel Committee has interviewed and is <br />recommending Sandra Ashley for the position of Finance Officer. The <br />Personnel Committee is also recommending that Jennifer Swendsen be promoted <br />fram Accounting Clerk to Accountant. <br /> <br />Motion by Y~yor Reimann and seconded by Councilmember Pearson to adopt <br />Resolution #88-115 appoint Sandra Ashely as Finance Officer and Jennifer <br />Swendsen as Accountant. (Refer to resolution file for Resolution #88-115). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Y.ayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />DeLuca 'and Pearson.
