'\. <br />.. :J <br />~- <br /> <br />Councilmember DeLuca noted that at this same time last year there was <br />discussion regarding having the Charter Commission review the necessity of <br />that requirement in the City Charter for precintt liaisons and annual <br />precinct meetings because of the absence of citizen response to precinct <br />meetings. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember DeLuca to direct tbe Charter Commission to review <br />and report back to City Council regarding the necessity for the precinct <br />liaison and annual meetings required in the City Charter. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Hartley noted that the Charter includes a process <br />by which City Council can initiate a Charter amendment. <br /> <br />Councilmemher DeLuca withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />- <br />Council requested that staff draft an ordinance, for Council consideration <br />on January 26, 1988, that would eliminate City Charter requirements for <br />precinct liaisons and precinct annual meetings.
