<br />the Ramsey Lions $5,108 and asked why the same project was projected to <br />cost the City approximately $3,000 during budget discussions. <br /> <br />Ms. Dodge explained that thed:ty and Yheschool district have a joint <br />powers agreement whereby the city pays 70% of program costs and the school <br />district pays 30%. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca indicating <br />City Council endorsement of the Key Communicator/Crime Prevention Pilot <br />Project. Further, to direc t staf f to researc h wh e th er th e city ca n <br />implement the program through the joint powers agreement with the cost to <br />the city being reimbursed by the Ramsey Lions. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Pearson and DeLuca. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann requested that Councilmember Cox serve on the Key <br />Communicator Committee for the balance of 1987 and that the 1988 Council <br />Organizational Meeting include appointing a councilmember to that Committee <br />for 1988. <br /> <br />Council recessed at 8:45 p.m. <br /> <br />~layor Reimann called the meeting back to order at 9 :00 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #5: Policy Revardinv Maintenance Of Cemeteries: <br /> <br />After some discussion, City Council directed staff to: <br /> <br />a) Draft a policy for Council consideration that would establish a <br />fee for lots and burials at Trott Brook Cemetery with those fees <br />to be used for perpetual cemetery maintenance. <br /> <br />b) Develop cemeter)" maintenance standards that would include mOw ing <br />monthly (or as needed) and just prior to holidays such as Labor <br />Day, Memorial Day and the 4th of July. <br /> <br />c) Solicit the interest of civic groups to take on the responsibility <br />of cemetery maintenance. <br /> <br />d) Solicit a proposal from Elvin Erickson for the maintenance of <br />Trott Brook Cemetery on a full-time or back-up basis. <br /> <br />e) Have the Ramsey Cemetery platted; solicit the interest of <br />historical societies or college students in accomplishing this <br />task. <br /> <br />f) Verify whether the Anoka County Parks Department has made funds <br />available for the construction of fencing for Ramsey and Trott <br />Brook Cemeteries. <br /> <br />Case #6: Adont 1988 Budpet: <br /> <br />City Council/December 22, 1987 <br /> <br />Pa.ge 9 of 15 <br /> <br />~~ <br />
