Voting yes: Chairman Ippel,Commissioners Barnes and <br />Greenberg. Voting no: None. AbSent: Commissioners Donovan, Chapnan, Emery, <br />and Erickson. <br /> <br />Case #2: Qpdate on EnvirollIIental Assessment: <br /> <br />Chainnan Ippel informed the Commission that ~rland otto is putting the final <br />touches on the envirornnental assessment. The public hearing is tentatively <br />scheduled for April 12, 1988. <br /> <br />Case #4: Discuss and Review Plans and Information Regarding Special <br />Election of ~ril 19. 1988: <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel reiterated that the March Ramsey Resident newsletter would <br />contain information on the election and that a special Resident would be <br />published the first part of April. The emphasis will be that the vote is on <br />the airport safety zoning and not airport developnent. <br /> <br />Chainnan Ippel read letters from Mr. Robert Debee (attachment 1) and Mr. Ken <br />Patz of the Anoka Technical Institute (attachment 2) regarding airport issues. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel stated that Mr. Torn Snell of the Anoka County Chamber of <br />Commerce contacted him after reading a newspaper article on the upcoming <br />election and wanted to knCM what the Chamber could do regarding the developnent <br />of the airport and the potential for economic developnent. <br /> <br />Cormnissioner Greenberg stated that it might be helpful to set up a hotl ine for <br />residents to call to find out information on the airport issue before the <br />public hearing and election. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Barnes to <br />investigate the possibility of setting up a telephone line at the Ramsey <br />Munici};al Center for residents to call and find out information on the airport. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Greenberg and <br />Barnes. Voting no: None. Absent: Cormnissioners Donovan, Chapnan, Emery, and <br />Erickson. <br /> <br />. C~SSION INPUl' <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed the inq?ortance of airport safety zoning and the concern <br />that the public is confusing airport developnent with the safety zoning issue. <br /> <br />Ms. Deb Geske informed the Commission that she will be submitting a letter <br />(attachment 3) for publication in the Anoka County Union and the Elk River Star <br />News. Chainnan Ippel read the letter aloud. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Barnes to adjourn <br />the regular Airport Commission meeting. <br /> <br />fution carried.
