<br />Motion by Commissioner Barnes and seconded by Commissioner Greenberg to <br />reconmend appointment of Mr. Larry Oltmanns to the Airport Corranission to a term <br />to expire December 31, 1990. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Barnes and <br />Greenberg. Voting no: None. Absent: Corranissioners Donovan, Olapnan, Emery, <br />and Erickson. <br /> <br />Case .2: UJ;ldate on Environnental Assessment: <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel informed the Conunission that ~rland Otto is putting the final <br />touches on the environmental assessment. The public hearing is tentatively <br />scheduled for April 12, 1988. <br /> <br />Case #4: Discuss and Review Plans and Information Regardin9 Special <br />Election of ~ril 19. 1988: <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel reiterated that the March Ramsey Resident newsletter would <br />contain information on the election and that a special Resident would be <br />published the first p:irt of April. The emphasiS will be that the vote is on <br />the airport safety zoning and not airport developnent. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel read letters fran Mr. Robert Debee (attachment 1) and Mr. Ken <br />Patz of the Moka Technical Institute (attachment 2) regarding airport issues. <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel stated that Mr. Tom Snell of the Anoka County Chamber of <br />Commerce contacted him after reading a newspaper' article on the upcoming <br />election and wanted to know what the Chamber could do regarding the developnent <br />of the airport and the potential for econanic developnent. <br /> <br />Conunissioner Greenberg stated that it might be helpful to set up a hotline for <br />residents to call to find out information on the airport issue before the <br />public hearing and election. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Barnes to <br />investigate the possibility of setting up a telephone line at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center for residents to call and find out information on the airport. <br /> <br />Motion carried. voting yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Greenberg and <br />Barnes. Voting no: None. Absent: Commissioners Donovan, Chatnan, Emery, and <br />Erickson. <br /> <br />ca.1MISSION INPUl' <br /> <br />The Conunission reviewed the iIIq?Ortance of airport safety zoning and the concern <br />that the public is confusing airport developnent with the safety zoning issue. <br /> <br />~~. Deb Geske informed the Commission that she will be submitting a letter <br />(attachment 3) for publication in the Anoka County Union and the Elk River Star <br />News. Chairman Ippel read the letter aloud. <br /> <br />ADJOORN <br /> <br />Motion by Corranissioner Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Barnes to adjourn <br />the regular Airport Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Ippel, Commissioners Greenberg and <br />Barnes. Voting no: None.
