The FAA was very encouraging. They would like to clear the <br />environmental review over the winter in order to have the funding available <br />in 1989. The landfill is still a COncern to the FAA. The FAA would like <br />to hear of its closure. <br /> <br />A discussion between Mr. Otto and Chairman Ippel ensued regarding the <br />proposed landf ill expansion. <br /> <br />Commissioner Barnes reaffirmed the need for aviation training in Minnesota. <br />AVTI is beginning a dispatch program soon as well as the possibility of a <br />new radio repair program. <br /> <br />Commissioners. Chapman and Barnes suggested that either Carolyn Rosedahl or <br />Nuri Bassamani of AVTI write a letter to the Ramsey City Councilor an open <br />letter to the citizens of Ramsey about the importance of the potential of <br />these new programs to our area and the need f or improvement at Gateway <br />North Industr ia lAirport. <br /> <br />~ <br />-,1 <br /> <br />Chairman Ippel would like to speak with Waste Management regarding the <br />situation or possibly have City Council speak j with them. Chairman Ippel <br />directed the Airport Commissioners to call or write City Council members <br />and stress to them the concerns regarding Waste Management anp: the AV'l'I <br />aviation programs being jeopardized. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Commissione~ Particination <br /> <br />'!he need to attend meetings regularly was recognized by all present. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMEt.."'l' <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Emery and seconded by Commissioner Chapman to <br />adjourn the regular Airport Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
