<br />15 Minutes <br /> <br />CASE #3: <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR CONDITIONAL USE PERM!T <br />TO OPERATE A VEHICLE SALES LOT; <br />CASE OF MR. ROGER HURD <br />By: Anne Norris, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. Roger Hurd is requesting a conditional use permit to operate a vehicle <br />sales lot at 7205 Highway #10 N.W. This property is located in the I-I <br />Industrial district. Vehicle sales is not a permitted use in this district. <br />Mr. Hurd currently owns and operates the West Main Auto business at 434 West <br />Main in Anoka. <br /> <br />Mr. Hurd plans to do exterior repairs to the residential structure existing on <br />the site and use it for an office for the business. Mr. Hurd is also proposing <br />to blacktop the proposed car lot. <br /> <br />a) Application <br />b) Site location map <br />c) Proposed site plan <br />d) Letter from Mr. Bill Sironen, Anoka County, dated July 19, 1988 <br />e) Findings of Fact #0207 <br />f) Proposed conditional use permit <br /> <br /> <br />Enclosed are the following items for your information: <br /> <br />The City Engineer's review of Mr. Hurd's proposed site plan will be available <br />at the meeting. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />At its meeting on June 28, 1988 the City Council considered Mr. Hurd's request <br />and tabled action until Mr. Hurd provided a scaled site plan. <br /> <br />The Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on Mr. Hurd's <br />request on June 7, 1988. On June 16, 1988 the Commission recommended denial of <br />Mr. Hurd's request as: 1) the request is not consistent with the existing <br />zoning or with the intent of the Comprehensive Plan for that parcel and 2) the <br />Commission had concerns regarding safe access to the site. <br /> <br />Rec ommenda ti on: <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Approve/deny Mr. Roger Hurd's request for a conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />At t orney <br />Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br />Anoka County Highway Department <br /> <br />Chief of Pol ice <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Superintendent <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br /> <br />-L <br /> <br />-L <br />~ <br /> <br />-L <br /> <br />3~ <br />
