Mo„,t,p= rro,.= v„please Note: this case <br />was removed from the Consent Agenda and moved to the Regular Agenda as item #8.3 <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to consider updating the policy for the Recruitment Application and Interview Process <br />of Appointing City Board and Commission Members and Chair Member Term Rotations to eliminate restrictions <br />on the number of consecutive Chair member terms. This matter was discussed this evening during the City <br />Council work session and was brought forward at the request of two Councilmembers. <br />As per the attached policy, page three of the policy, under "selection", bullet number 4, states "Chair and <br />Vice -chair selections are generally decided by each board or commission in April. The City Council desires to <br />offer members the opportunity to grow their experience on the commission; therefore, following a maximum of <br />two consecutive terms as Chair of the respective commission, a new Chair will be selected.
