Councilmember Hardin introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #91-26-262 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE RAMSEY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORITY UNDER MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTIONS 469.090 <br />THROUGH 469.108 <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Recitals,. That the City is authorized pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.090 <br />through 469.108 (the "Economic Development Authority Act"), to establish an economic <br />development authority for the City, and the Council desires to do so in order to promote the <br />economic, commercial, housing, and industrial development and redevelopment of the City <br />and in order to consolidate the activities heretofore undertaken by the City in those areas. <br />The City has caused notice of a public hearing on the establishment by the City of an <br />economic development authority to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in <br />the City once each week for two consecutive weeks, and pursuant to such notice, a public <br />hearing on said question has been held by the Council on the date hereof, at which hearing <br />all persons desiring to present their oral or written comments on this proposal were given <br />an opportunity to do so. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Establishment of Economic Development Authority. That pursuant to the Economic <br />Development Authority Act, the Council hereby establishes an economic development <br />authority for the City, to be known as the Ramsey Economic Development Authority (the <br />"EDA"). The EDA shall be governed by a board of commissioners thereof consisting of <br />the five members of the Council, and the term of each commissioner of the EDA shall <br />coincide with that commissioner's term of office as a member of the City Council. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Powers. That the EDA shall have all powers given to an economic development authority <br />pursuant to the Economic Development Authority Act, as the same may be amended or <br />supplemented. <br /> <br />The motion for the adopting of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Beyer and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gilbertson <br />Councilmember Hardin <br />Councilmember Beyer <br />Councilmember Peterson <br />Councilmember Cich <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
