case. A total of 16.08 miles of public street segments across 33 subdivisions are proposed to receive pavement rejuvenation. Approximately 50-percent of the street segments are proposed to receive pavement rejuvenation improvements on the 2-year schedule, while the remaining 50-percent were previously passed over due to budget restraints but are still in the window where pavement rejuvenation treatment is cost-effective. Final plans and specifications are proposed to be prepared in-house as part of Staff s normal duties. Preliminary Schedule Remaining • Council approves plans and specifications, and awards contract for 2024 Pavement Rejuvenator o March 26, 2024 • Contractor begins improvements o Late June / early July, 2024 • Contractor completes improvements o Late July / early August, 2024 The proposed improvements are designated as City Improvement Project #24-09, 2024 Pavement Rejuvenation Improvements. Notification: If Council orders plans and specifications, engineering Staff will create and maintain a project webpage, which will be updated as new information is made available throughout the project. Letters will not be mailed out to affected property owners until Council approves the plans and awards the contract for the project, which is proposed to occur in late March, 2024. Observations/Alternatives: Observations: Estimates are CIP level and will be updated during the design process. Funding Source: The City budgeted $575,000 for crack seal and pavement rejuvenator improvements in 2024. Municipal State Aid (MSA) street segments may be paid using MSA maintenance funds. Approximately 9-percent of the proposed project area is composed of MSA street segments Estimated Pavement Rejuvenator Project Costs $4021000 Estimated Crack Seal Project Costs $1731000 Total Contracted Street Maintenance Costs $5751000 City Staff proposes to administer and inspect construction in-house, as part of their normal duties. Recommendation: Staff recommends adopting Resolution #24-03 ordering plans and specifications for 2024 Pavement Rejuvenation Improvements, Improvement Project #24-09.
