1 The city has adopted standards for all properties, to include rental properties. In regards to this Code, <br />2 all rental properties must be maintained in accordance to all local, state and federal laws including but not <br />3 limited to, the Minnesota State Fire Code, Building Code, and Accessibility Code. The city has adopted the <br />4 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC), referenced in article V, Property Maintenance Code; <br />5 section 105-142, adopting the 2021 International Property Maintenance Code as published by the <br />6 International Code Council, Inc. <br />7 (1) It is the responsibility of the licensee to assure that every rental dwelling and rental dwelling unit <br />8 is maintained in compliance with all city ordinances, state law, and federal laws. A violation of <br />9 City Code, state law, or federal law, constitutes a public nuisance and may be abated under the <br />10 provisions of the City Code or IPMC. <br />11 (2) Snow and ice removal. Rental dwellings containing four or more dwelling units must remove <br />12 snow and ice and remediate hazardous conditions from all walkways, sidewalks, steps and <br />13 parking areas within 72 hours of a snowfall. <br />14 <br />15 (Ord. No. 23-16, 9-12-2023) <br />16 <br />17 Sec. 26-658. Reserved. <br />18 <br />19 Sec. 26-659. Falsely reporting violations. <br />20 No person shall report a violation of this chapter knowing or having reason to know that the report is <br />21 false with the intent to affect the licensing status or inspection schedule of the rental dwelling. <br />22 <br />23 (Ord. No. 23-16, 9-12-2023) <br />24 <br />25 Sec. 26-660. Violations. <br />26 In addition to any other sanctions or administrative penalties imposed, any violation of this chapter <br />27 shall constitute a misdemeanor offense, punishable as defined by state law. Each day of violation constitutes <br />28 a separate offense. <br />29 <br />30 (Ord. No. 23-16, 9-12-2023) <br />31 <br />32 Sec. 26-661. No warranty by city. <br />33 By enacting and undertaking to enforce this chapter, neither the city nor its city council, agents or <br />34 employees warrant or guaranty the safety, fitness or suitability of any rental dwelling or rental dwelling <br />35 unit in the city. Licensees and occupants should take appropriate steps to protect their interests, health, <br />36 safety and welfare. <br />37 <br />38 (Ord.
