Councilmember Stewart introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #25-083 RESOLUTION APPROVING GRANT FROM RESTAURANT SIGN AND AWNING PROGRAM FOR KING BAGUETTE, INC. WHEREAS, City Staff worked with King Baguette, Inc. (The “Applicant”) to identify a Ramsey location for a hybrid service, sit down restaurant concept; and WHEREAS, the Applicant has filled out a complete application for the Sign and Awning program at 7912 Sunwood Drive NW, Unit 100 and has requested $1,500 to fund the signage for this new restaurant/bakery; and WHEREAS, utilization of the Restaurant Sign and Awning program is based on the availability of EDA marketing funds (9230-6246) on an annual basis and is awarded on a case by case basis; and WHEREAS, the Applicant has received two quotes and the cost for the restaurant signage is $10,975; and WHEREAS, The EDA met on April 10, 2025 and unanimously recommended awarding $1,500 to King Baguette, Inc. from the Restaurant Sign and Awning program; and WHEREAS, King Baguette Inc. is a company that is active and in good standing as documented in the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State as of April 14, 2025. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council authorizes awarding a grant of $1500 from the Restaurant Sign and Awning Program to King Baguette, Inc. to be funded through 9230-6246 (EDA Marketing); subject to Economic Development Manager review, and completion and inspection of the project. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Heineman Councilmember Stewart Councilmember Olson Councilmember Buscher Councilmember Specht
