<br />Administrator Walker presented the.fire contract submitted by the
<br />City of Anoka. The cost will be 1/6 of a mill or $3,114.92 for
<br />the year 1976. '~

<br />SELECTION OF ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICE
<br />A<;l.ministrator Walker suggested Blaine Midway Al~ Pets be appointed
<br />,as dog catcher for the City. He 'said they are servipg Ham Lake and
<br />Andover and the cost for 'their animal cont'rol has been averaging
<br />$200 a month compared to the city's past dog catching service
<br />costing $350.to.$hOO per month.

<br />Mr. Greg Wax, of Blaine Midway s~idhe charges a $20 impQunding
<br />fee' of which he re.tains $12.50 for pickup and th# ~ity receives
<br />the remaining $7,,50 plus the licensing fee. He said, he issues
<br />ci tations, insures dogs are vaccinated a'nd charges impounding
<br />fees to owners of the dogs and then the court fines the ovmer also.

<br />Councilman Reimann asked Mr. Wax if he noticed less dogs clai,med
<br />\^lhen the conun\lnities are located some distance from the pound.

<br />Councilman Mickelson asked Mr. Wax concerning unlicensed dogs,
<br />how much it would cost the owner to get the dog back. .
<br />Mr. vvax replied the owner is' charged the $20 impounding fee, a
<br />boarding fee of $2/per day'and the dog license fee and the,judge

<br />Councilman Gorham asked Mr. Wax if he is serving the City of Rams'ey
<br />at present. Mr. v.lax replied he is serving Rams.ey on a call basis,
<br />as instructed by Administrator Walker.

<br />Councilman. Reimann stated that at the last meeting Council decided
<br />to use Mr. Walton's son as dog catcher in the- interim period
<br />until official appointment of the dog catcher.

<br />control fpr 'the City Qf Ramsey until the next meet:i.ng. - Seconded
