1 2 Motion sign means any sign which revolves, rotates or has any moving parts. 3 Nameplate/identification sign means a sign which bears the name and/or address of the occu- 4 pants of the building. 5 Nonconforming sign, illegal, means a sign which unlawfully existed prior to the adoption of the 6 ordinance from which this chapter is derived. 7 Nonconforming sign, legal, means a sign which lawfully existed prior to the adoption of the ordi- 8 nance from which this chapter is derived, but does not conform to the newly enacted require- 9 ments of this chapter. 10 Obsolete Sign Copy means an abandoned sign that no longer advertises or identifies a use con- 11 ducted on the property on which said sign is erected. 12 Off-premise sign means a sign which directs attention to a business, commodity, service, activ- 13 ity or entertainment not necessarily conducted, sold or offered upon the premises where such 14 sign is located. 15 Parapet means a low protective wall along the edge of a roof. 16 Pennants means attention-getting devices which resemble flags and are of non-permanent pa- 17 per, cloth or plastic-like consistency.
