Background: <br />REQUEST FOR EXTENSION TO RECORD FINAL PLAT FOR <br />RAMSEY TOWN CENTER 6 ADDITION SUBDIVISION; <br />CASE OF D.R. HORTON, INC. <br />By: Patrick Trudgeon, AICP, Community Development Director <br />CASE# 3 <br />On May 31, 2005, the City Council granted final plat approval to Ramsey Town Center 6 Addition, <br />a residential subdivision located in Ramsey Town Center, north of East Ramsey Parkway and west of <br />Peridot St. NW. Under Chapter 9.50.02 (8) of City Code, a final plat must be recorded with Anoka <br />County within two years of approval unless the City Council extends the period at the applicant's <br />request. <br />D.R. Horton, the developer of Ramsey Town Center 6t Addition, has requested an extension to <br />record the plat. The final plat was approved on May 31, 2005, therefore, the applicant would have <br />until May 31, 2007 to record the plat. Under their request, D.R. Horton would like to have until May <br />31, 2008 to record the plat. In conversations with D.R. Horton, they have indicated their desire to <br />complete the first phase of their development (Ramsey Town Center 2 Addition) as well as the <br />residential market slowdown as the primary reasons for their request. It should be noted that <br />extending the date to record the plat does not preclude D.R. Horton from filing the plat earlier than <br />2008 if market or other conditions change. <br />The following items are included for your review: <br />a) Site Location Map <br />b) Communication from D.R. Horton dated November 2, 2006 requesting the extension. <br />c) Approved Final Plat for Ramsey Town Center 6 Addition <br />d) Resolution granting a one -year extension to D.R. Horton, Inc. to record the final plat for the <br />Ramsey Town Center 6 Addition subdivision. <br />Recommendation: <br />City Staff recommends adoption of the enclosed resolution granting an extension to D.R. Horton to <br />record the final plat of Ramsey Town Center 6 Addition. <br />City Council Action: <br />Motion to adopt Resolutions #06 -11 -_ granting an extension to D.R.
