Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION # ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF AN EMPLOYEE AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO FILL THE RESULTING VACANCIES WHEREAS, Mr. Robert Kuhn began employment with the City of Ramsey as a Patrol Officer on January 1, 1979 and was assigned to the position of Sergeant on June 10, 1997; and WHEREAS, on October 5, 2006, Sgt. Robert Kuhn submitted a letter of resignation that is effective February 1, 2007; and WHEREAS, staff is recommending that Sgt. Kuhn's resignation be accepted; and WHEREAS, staff has recommended that Ofc. Sheldon Erdman be appointed to replace Sgt. Kuhn; and WHEREAS, staff further recommends that the City Council grant authorization to begin a recruitment process to fill the vacancy created by Ofc. Erdman's promotion; and WHEREAS, staff has requested authorization to create an eligibility list to fill_ the patrol officer position that is expected to be authorized as part of the 2007 budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, Confirms the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to do the following: 1. Accept Sgt. Kuhn's resignation/retirement. 2. Promote Ofc. Sheldon Erdman to the position of Patrol Sergeant effective February 2, 2007. 3. Grant staff authorization to begin a recruitment process to fill the Patrol Officer position left vacant by Ofc. Erdman. 4. Grant staff authorization to create an eligibility list to fill the Patrol Officer position that is expected to be authorized as part of the January 2007 budget.
