CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Heineman called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Discuss City Engineer/Public Works Director Role Separation <br />City Administrator Hagen reviewed the Staff report in regard to separating the City Engineer and <br />Public Works Director roles. <br />Councilmember Specht said he likes the idea of this. He noted that there may be a slight budget <br />impact that will level out as they would be able to decrease their work that is outsourced. <br />City Administrator Hagen noted the City Engineer's salary cost would be shared by many different <br />funds. He said only a small portion of this comes from the annual operating budget. <br />Councilmember Specht asked City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby if he was supportive <br />of this being split. <br />City Engineer/Public Works Director Westby said yes. <br />City Council Work Session / May 27, 2025 <br />Page 1 of 7 <br />
