5. 9. <br />CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: <br />06/10/2025 <br />Primary Strategic Plan Initiative: Strive for high organizational morale and employee retention <br />Title: <br />Authorization to Hire a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to authorize the hiring of a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner. <br />As a result of a recent resignation, staff conducted a recruitment for a Building Inspector/Plans Examiner. <br />Several candidates were interviewed, including Mr. Joshua Guin. Mr. Guin was selected to advance in the <br />recruitment process. He passed the necessary pre -employment background checks and staff recommends hiring <br />him as a full-time Building Inspector/Plans Examiner. Mr. Guin will be subject to a 6-month probationary period <br />and the terms of the City's Personnel Policy and AFSCME union contract. <br />The primary objective of this position is to assist the Building Official in ensuring that all new and existing <br />residential and commercial/industrial development in the City complies with all applicable portions of the <br />Minnesota Building Codes and applicable City Codes.
