BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT PUBLIC HEARING CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Board of Adjustment conducted a public hearing on Thursday, April 30, 1987 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. John Ploeger's request for a variance from the required front yard setback at 15640 Juniper Ridge Drive NW. Members Present: Mr. Gerald Zimmerman, Chairman Mr. Charles LaDue Mr. James Howell Mr. Terry Hendriksen Mr. Kenneth Peterson Members Absent: Mr. Roy Shumway Mr. James Holm Ala 0 Present: Councilman Alan Pearson Building Official Elvin Erickson CALL TO ORDER Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 7:44 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT . Mr. and Mrs. John Ploeger were present representing their case. Mr. Ploeger explained that they would like to position their proposed house on the lot so they don't have to remove any of the oak trees on the property. This would leave a 25 foot front yard setback rather than the required 40 foot setback. Mr. Ploeger submitted a petition that was signed by a number of his neighbors in Reilley Estates that would be affected by the position of his home stating that they have no objections to the proposed placement of Mr. and Mrs. Ploeger's home. Mr. Ploeger stated that the neighbors all felt that it would look better to have the house closer to the road and preserve the trees rather than remove the trees so the house could meet the setback requirement. Mr. Ploeger thanked the Board for holding a special meeting, as they are in a time bind. The Commission noted receiving the petition. There was no citizen input. ADJOURN Motion by Commissioner Peterson and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to adjourn the public hearing. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Peterson, Hendriksen, LaDue and Howell. Voting No: None. Abstained: None. Absent: Commissioners Shumway and Holm. .
