<br />. <br /> <br />PROCEEDIl\GS OF CITY CDUNCIL <br />BOARD OF AnJUSTMENT <br />IUBLIC HEARING <br />CITY OF lWI5EY <br />ANOKA COUNl'Y' <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />A Board of Adjustment public hearing was conducted on Tuesday, August 27, 1985 <br />at the ~amsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />regarding Mr. Edwin Christotherson I s request to build an accessory structure <br />larger than allowed ~ City Code. <br /> <br />Members Present: Councilmanber Jean Schlueter, Chairperson <br />Mayor Gary Heitman <br />Councilmanber Arnie Cox <br />Councilmanber AI Sorteberg <br />Councilmanber Gary Reimann <br /> <br />City AclJIinistrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Director of Technical Services Clayton Berg <br />City Planner Anne Norris <br />Ci ty Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Finance Officer Noel Graczyk <br />Reporter Angela Elint <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />. Chairperson Schlueter called the public hearing to order at 8:10 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />~. ChristoJ;berson was present and stated that he has reviewed the findings of <br />fact and developnent agreement and has no problan with than. <br /> <br />There was no citizen input. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion ~ Mayor Heitman and seconded ~ Councilmanber Sorteberg. to adj ourn this <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Councilmanber Reimann stated that a lot of research went <br />into formulating an ordinance spelling out the allCMable accessory structure <br />size according to lot size; would like a motion to table the board of <br />adj ustment cases before Council tonight until Council can meet and decide <br />whether or not that ordinance is going to be enforced. Councilnmber Reimann <br />stated that if the ordinance was adhered ~, 95% of the requests for larger <br />accessory structures oould be handled at City Staff level, citizens could save <br />$90 and Council would not be required to conduct all these board of adj ustment <br />hearings. It is more respectful to let the citizens know fran the beginning <br />just what City Council's position is in regards to the ordinance than to let <br />than sit at a Council meeting until 11:00 p.m. for a decision. Chairperson <br />Schlueter agreed with Councilmanber Reimann but felt the board of adjustment <br />cases on tonight's agenda should be followed through in lieu of the fact that <br />the public hearings have been conducted. Mr. Newcomb stated that he objects to <br />the idea of returning for another Council meeting to hear a decision on his <br />August 27, 1985 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
