.

PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL
BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

A Board of Adjustment was called to order by Chairman Arnie Cox, Tuesday,
December 21, 1982 at 7:53 P.M. at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153
Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota

Members Present: Councilmember Arnie Cox, Chairman
Mayor Thomas Gamec
Councilmember Gary Reimann
Councilmember Sue VanWagner
Councilmember Al Sorteberg

Also Present: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle
City Attorney William Goodrich
City Building Official Clayton Berg
City Engineer Peter Raatikka
Reporter Eric Sandin

.

Case #1: Mr. GeraldPeltzer's Request For A Board of Adjustment Variance:

Mayor Gamec stated that allowing mobile homes in Ramsey, even far a short
term, has led to many problems and in his opinion no more permits of this
type wil 1 be granted. Mayor Gamec stated that Ramsey was forced to adopt
a code that would allow module and mobile homes in the City, but Council
did make that code very restrictive. Mayor Gamec also stated that Mr.
Peltzer was informed that the request would not be considered until he
provided the City with a $300 bond, Mr. Peltzer has provided the City
wi tha check for $300,. but the check is worthless to the City because
Mr. Peltzer has not endorsed the check. Mayor Gamec stated that the
variance woul d not be approved unl ess Mr. Peltzer agreed to endorse the
check.

Mr. Gerald Peltzer stated that he doesn't understand why the City would
want the check endorsed, that he is supposed to get that bond money
refunded when the variance expires and if the City is going to cash it,
he would like to know what the City will use the money for.

Mayor Gamec stated that the City will not cash the check unless at the
time of expiration of the variance the mobile home is not removed from
the Peltzer residence~ the point is, that now, the check is a worthless
pi ece of paper to the City without r~r . Pel tzer I s signature.

Councilmember Van Wagner noted that Item #18 of the Findings of Fact,
the date should read June 1, 1983.

.

Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Van Wagner to adopt
the Findings of Fact regarding Mr. Gerald Peltzer's retention of mobile
home in residential area in regards to the City Code. ~ .:1~ ~ ~

Motion carried.
