WHEREAS, according to plan sheet UT 14 of the approved plans, the proposed sanitary <br />sewer work on Ramsey Boulevard includes a new section of 8" PVC pipe sewer that connects <br />into proposed MH 10, and the existing section of sanitary sewer from MH 10 to MH 149 is to <br />remain in place with MH 149 being reconstructed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, after reviewing conditions in the field, city staff directed the contractor to <br />remove and replace the sanitary sewer from MH 10 to MH 149 with the thought that this sanitary <br />sewer would be unsuitable for use during the 60-year design life of Ramsey Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, once the contractor dewatered, excavated, and exposed this section of <br />existing sanitary sewer, city staff determined the sewer did not need to be replaced; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Contractor already ordered and received the sanitary sewer material, <br />installed and performed dewatering operations, and began excavation to complete the work, <br />therefore the contractor will be compensated for the labor, equipment and material costs they <br />expended towards the extra work before it was determined it was no longer needed; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey will take possession of the additional sanitary sewer <br />material for future use elsewhere; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Engineer has reviewed and approves of the Extra Work associated <br />with Change Order No. 43 resulting in a project cost increase of $32,982.21, of which the city <br />will pay $11,873.34 from sanitary sewer funds. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) The Ramsey City Council hereby approves Change Order No. 43 for Improvement <br />Project #20-11, Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Improvements. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Olson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Heineman <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Olson <br /> Councilmember Buscher <br /> Councilmember Peters <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> Councilmember Stewart <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />Resolution #25-144 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />
