~- ([) l' ., Public Hearing of May 15, 1975 . Cox: On the 14th of April, we elected the trasurer and clerk and the vice-chairman and chairman of the board of adjustment for the City of Ramsey. At this time, I ,VQuld like to have anyone talking this evening to speak slow enough and concise enough so Mrs. Guy can get the full depth. The first item on the agenda is to establish the by- laws,~nd if it should be Roberts Orders of Rules devised or whatever would be best. Do you "flave any comments on that 'I ,;.~~:. Goodrich: Mr. Chairman. I 1.rould recommend that initially tonight until we do formally adopt by-laws, the Roberts Rules of Order Revised be the rules and regulations 1{hich this meeting tonight is regulated. After that, if the board so desires. I can present to you by-laws which would incorporate Robert's Rules. But, I think, my resolution tonight should adopt Roberts Rules Revised. Albert: Also will be the requirement and obligation provided by the statutes of the board of adjustment and the rules followed under the statJutes. Goodrich: The rules under the statutes take presidence here. Right. '/: We make a motion to adopy Roberts Rules of Orders. Cox: Is there a second to that motion1 1: I second that motion. Cox: Any more discussion? All those in favor say aye. Those opposed? No opposed. .Motion carr-ied. We should establish meeting dates whether they be monthly or on demand or on request or be sure, in whichever way we go to everything legal in accord. Anyone have any opinion on that? Gor: I would think that we could adopt an annual meeting the first part of the:ryear in January at that time and have the other board of adjustment meetings on demand. Cox: Which comes up to any election time period. The elections Hill be in November hereafter. We should have time for whomever is running if it will be this way or otherwise. To understand what it really means. Gorham: As our ordinance is set up. It schedules this sort of thing annually. Mickelson: That would be the second Monday in January at 7:00. Reimann: I{ould that be on the same regular meeting? Mick: That was what I was thinking. We do alot of things at that first Council meeting we don't ordinarily do, and then we would maybe have alittle too much to get ready for. 1v1aybe it should be the second month. Cox: Maybe even in February. If it was anything as it was in this past year and in the event there was a whole new council, they would be better off getting acquainted first. Or maybe even in Harch. Pretty hard to for people to make any decisions at an annual meeting with any input into it. . Gorham: I move that we accept the annual board of Adjustment meeting for the first Council meeting in March and other meetings thereafter on demand and upon request. Mick: Would you want to have that 1/2 hour prior to the first council meeting? Gorham: Yes. Perhaps we should say 1/2 hour prior to the council meeting altho we may change the hours.
