City UPDATE <br />Administrator's Report <br />Council Update <br />June 27, 2025 <br />City Council Highlights - June 24 <br />The regular City Council meeting opened with a <br />moment of silence in honor of the tragic events that <br />transpired on June 14, 2025. These events included the <br />tragic murder of Representative Melissa Hortman and <br />her husband, Mark, as well as the shooting of Senator <br />John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. State Auditor Julie <br />Blaha and State Representative Harry Niska spoke <br />jointly about the incident to share their condolences <br />to the Hortman family, offer their well wishes for both <br />Hoffman's recoveries and express their appreciation for <br />the response by law enforcement across the state and the <br />Ramsey Police Department. <br />Presentation <br />The meeting continued with two presentations. The <br />first was the annual Fire Department update and review, <br />which included service data, trends and activities within <br />the Fire Department for 2024. Did you know you can <br />sponsor one of these flags to show <br />civic pride or honor a loved one's <br />memory? <br />Your one-time donation will be acknowledged with an <br />engraved nameplate displayed in City Hall and at a City <br />Council meeting. <br />There are two Adopt -A -Flag patronage levels. Friends <br />of the Flag is $50 and sponsors one of the 2-foot by 3-foot <br />flags. The other is the Patriot Sponsorship, at $500.
