<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CASE 16: <br /> <br />INFORMATION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. <br /> <br />Star City Program <br /> <br />On July 22s the City Council approved the City's participation in the Star City <br />program. I spoke with Bob Stern about proceeding with the requirements of the <br />project. Mr. Stern suggested that the Commission waint to begin work on the <br />program until after the Star City Conference scheduled for September 16-18 at <br />the Sheraton Northwest. At least several Commission members as well as the <br />project coordinator should plan to attend this conference. <br /> <br />I am trying to schedule a meeting with a technical assistance representative <br />from MN DEED to review the Star City requirements with staff and the <br />Commission. <br /> <br />B. Extension of Thurston Avenue/Coordination of Street Alignments between <br />Ramsey and Anoka <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults and City Engineer Raatikka are working with the property <br />owners of Anoka's industrial land adjacent to Ramsey to coordinate alignment of <br />streets through the industrial areas South of Industry Avenue in Ramsey and <br />Anoka. <br /> <br />C. Incubator Facility <br /> <br />On July 22s the City Council directed that the EDC continue to work on a <br />business incubator facility in whatever form they determine makes the most <br />sense for Ramsey. <br /> <br />D. Rick Foster's Request for Tax Increment Financing Assistance <br /> <br />On July 22s the City Council granted preliminary approval to Mr. Foster's <br />request for tax increment financing for site improvements in the River's Bend <br />Plaza P.U.D. On August 12s the City Council will conduct a public hearing on <br />the modification of the tax increment financing documents to allow for these <br />expenditures and to include River's Bend Plaza P.U.D. in Tax Increment <br />Financing District No.1. <br /> <br />E. Extension of Utilities to Industrial Area <br /> <br />On August 12s the City Council will consider approving the plans and <br />specifications and ordering advertisement for bids for the extension of <br />sanitary sewer and municipal water to the industrial area and the construction <br />of well No.2. <br /> <br />F.
