<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CASE #7: <br /> <br />INFORMATION ITEMS <br /> <br />1) On September 30, the City Council rejected the bids for the extension of <br />sewer and water improvements to the City's industrial area as those bids <br />exceeded the Engineer's estimates by approximately 39%. The City Council <br />ordered a feasibility report on a new project for the extension of utilities to <br />the industrial area. The new project will be designed to reduce costs but <br />provide a similar level of service to that in the original improvement project. <br />The Council scheduled a public hearing on this project for 7:30 p.m. on Monday, <br />October 20, 1986. <br /> <br />2) At it's September 30, 1986 meeting, the City Council tabled adoption of an <br />ordinance establishing a Landfill Commission in order to allow the new <br />councilmember, Steve DeLuca, time to review the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />3) At it's September 30, 1986 meeting, the City Council authorized the Mayor <br />and City Administrator to enter into an agreement with Hakanson/Anderson <br />Associates for engineering services, preparation of an environmental impact <br />assessment report, preparation of a preapplication and preparation of a land <br />acquisition program for the proposed airport project. In addition, the City <br />Council directed staff to prepare a resolution, for their consideration, to <br />proceed with efforts to investigate the feasibility of improvements to the <br />Gateway North Industrial Airport. <br /> <br />4) On September 30, the City Council received a proposal from Iron Works <br />Development Corporation for the construction of an incubator facility with City <br />assistance. The Council directed Dave Hartley and Anne Norris of City staff <br />and Councilmember DeLuca to work with Paul Fournier and Curt Kummala on this <br />proposal. <br /> <br />5) The Metropolitan Council will be conducting a public hearing on Waste <br />Management of Minnesota's request for a certificate of need for vertical <br />expansion of the existing landfill. The hearing is scheduled for 7 :00 p.m., <br />Wednesday, October 8, 1986 at the Ramsey Elementary School, 15000 Nowthen <br />Boulevard N.W. <br />
