REGARDING <br />BUSINESS INCUBATOR PROJECT <br />By: Anne Norris, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mr. Bob Kirchner, Anoka Community Development Director, and Mr. Jim Roberts, <br />Pryde, Roberts and Co. will be at the meeting to discuss Anoka's study on <br />business incubator opportunities. <br /> <br />As you may know, the City of Anoka hired Pryde, Roberts and Co. to complete a <br />study on the feasibility of a small business incubator facility in the Anoka <br />area. The study included a study of whether the market would support such a <br />facility and if so, several possible sites for such a facility. The study <br />found that the market would be favorable for a business incubator facility. <br />The study also noted that one of the preferred sites for this facility would be <br />the Kovar building in Ramsey. <br /> <br />No decisions have been made on the project, but these findings prompted the <br />Anoka Economic Development Commission to meet with several members (Greenberg, <br />Fults, Hardin) of the Ramsey Economic Development Commission to discuss the <br />possibility of a joint venture by the two communities in a business incubator <br />facility. Members of Ramsey's Commission indicated interest but also stated <br />that they would need further information and discussion with the full <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Enclosure 2 contains the following items for your information: <br /> <br />a) Resume of Pryde, Roberts and Company <br />b) Venture analysis for incubator facility <br />c) Market analysis for incubator facility <br />d) Development strategy for incubator facility <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Commission Action: <br /> <br />No action is necessary at this time. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Administrator <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Community Devel.
