.

Case #2: status Of Economic Developnent Brochure:

'!he Commission proceeded to review the rough draft of the brochure.

Motion by Commissioner Cox and seconded by Commissioner Hardin that the
brochure introduction be by the City Council and the Economic Development
Commission rather than by specific individuals in order to avoid excessive
updating on the brochure.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Muller,
Miller, Fults, Vevea, Cox, Hardin and Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent:
Commissioner Schmidt.

Discussion ensued regarding the intent of this brochure is to promote the
community and not individuals; that any pictures of elected officials and
persons on commissions should be done as group pictures.

'!he Commission requested that Anne Norris be sure that it is noted in the
brochure that Ramsey is served by an airport and Burlington Northern Rail
Service.

'!he Commission requested that on the Financial Page of the brochure,
"guaranteed taxes" be deleted.

.

Discussion ensued regarding what picture will be placed in that part of the
brochure designated 'Staff'.

Ms. Norris stated that it is planned to have a picture of City Council in that
space.

Commissioner Cox stated that he cannot speak for the rest of the Ci ty Council,
but he is not in favor of including in the brochure pictures of City
affiliated persons coming and going; he would like to keep the need for
updating the brochure to a minimum.

Commissioner Vevea suggested a picture of Ramsey City Hall be used in the
, Staff' space.

Commissioner Hardin suggested that a better place for City Hall picture might
be the front cover.

Councilmember Schlueter was present and noted the (i1rase 'building for
tommorow' in the brochure text and suggested this (i1rase and a collage of City
scenes be used on the front cover of the brochure.

Commissioner Cox stated that if a collage is used on the front cover, it
should be of existing businesses and development in Ramsey.

Chairman Greenberg requested that Ms. Norris be sure that the type of labor
force available in Ramsey is noted in the brochure.

Commissioner Cox stated that the brochure should indicate services that are
available adjacent to Ramsey.

.
