<br />. <br /> <br />(";:l!:le #4: Q~~pussion B~9ardip9 C..ateway ~trDDrt's Deve10ment ~s R~ferred <br />~ The AirDD{t Commission: <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed that portion of the Airport Commission minutes of <br />February 20, 1985 in which a posi tion statement is requested regarding <br />Ramsey's commitment for balanced commercial and industrial development. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg stated that he believes Ramsey's p:lst actions prove it's <br />commitment to commercial and industrial development. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that thousands of dollars have been spent to bring <br />this community to where it is today. Commissioner Cox stated that the request <br />for a position statement was initiated by Airport Commission member Dick <br />Sieber, a person that does not want commercial development in the Ci ty but has <br />no problem in deriving benefit from the tax base created by commercial <br />development. Commissioner Cox stated that Mr. Sieber started a business in a <br />basement in ~ndover and it' s people like this that question a policy that has <br />been established in Ramsey for more than 20 years and request that it be <br />changed to please them. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hardin and seconded by Commissioner Vevea to inform the <br />Airport Commission that it is the opinion of the Economic Development <br />Commission that Ramsey is committed to balanced commercial and industrial <br />development based on the fact that this Economic Development Commission and <br />the Airport Commission were established by City Council for that sole purpose. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
