<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EDC/September 12, 1984 <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg <br />pt~oJect. <br /> <br />asked <br /> <br />for an <br /> <br />update on the <br /> <br />Rubber <br /> <br />Research <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin stated that he has received Rubber <br />financial statement and the Commission proceeded to discuss same. <br /> <br />Research's <br /> <br />Motion by Chairman Greenberg and seconded by Commissioner Cox <br />directing City Staff to prepare a letter from EDC to Rubber <br />Research stating that Ramsey prefer not to get involved <br />financially or manpower wise with their proposed tire recycling <br />proJect but that Ramsey does have vacant buildings available and <br />if other agencies do have funding available, their operation <br />would be welcomed in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mr. Schnelle stated that if Rubber <br />Research's proJect is considered a hazardous waste facility, the <br />City can expeet some reaction from the citizens. Rubber Research <br />would also need a conditional use permit to operate along Hwy. <br />10. Chairman Greenberg stated that the process used by Rubber <br />Research is shredding and all tires are contained in trailers <br />until they are ready for processing. Commissioner Cox noted that <br />Rubber Research would not need a conditional use permit to <br />operate in an area zone for Industrial. Commission consensus is <br />that Commissioner Haas and Representative Ernie Larsen be <br />provided with a copy of the subJect letter. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners <br />Cox, Hardin, Fults, Miller, Muller and Vevea.
