Absent: Canrnissioners Miller, Muller, Schmidt and Schneider. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Subcanrnittee Reports: <br /> <br />a) Economic- <br /> <br />Canrnissioner Fults stated that he and Canrnissioner Cox attended a <br />meeting regarding the Rum River Bridge crossing and no definite <br />coomi bnents can be made at this time as to when construction will <br />begin. 'Ibere is enough money available for land acquisi tion and <br />engineering, but not for construction. <br /> <br />Comnissioner Cox stated that the County is preparing a resolution to <br />forward to Washington, D. C. supporting the need for the bridge <br />crossing1 Ramsey's Council should also prepare a resolution. Tb get <br />top priority rating on this project, without any of the roads in <br />existence, is very difficult1 the County estimates it will be one of <br />the highest count intersections in the State of Minnesota immediately <br />after it is opened. 'Ibis City should be taking one tremendous lead in <br />keeping this issue before the Public and emphasizing h<M important <br />that crossing is to Ramsey. <br /> <br />Carmissioner Cox also stated that Ramsey has been rejected for Lawcon <br />grants two years in a r<M because Central Park is in a rural area1 <br />hopefully next year Ramsey will get some of it' s dollars back through <br />the River's Bend Park. <br /> <br />Motion py Canrnissioner Cox and seconded Py Carmissioner Fults that the <br />Economic Development Carmission urges City Council to adopt a <br />resolution urging the Washington, D.C. delegation attempt to generate <br />revenue to this area for a bridge crossing across the Rum River. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: <l1airrnan Greenberg, Carmissioners Cox, <br />Fults, Vevea, Hardin and Wagner. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Carmissioners Schmidt, Muller, Schneider and Miller. <br /> <br />Carmissioner Cox also stated that interest has been generated in <br />bringing a YMCA facility to the River's Bend Park area. <br /> <br />b) Legislative- <br /> <br />.
