<br />.tIt a) Legislative- <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that he met with Lloyd Schnelle and Anne Norris <br />regarding the current legislature membership and the fact that it seems to be <br />one with a strong attitude toward stimulating tax base in Minnesota. <br />Commissioner Cox stated that he and Ms. Norris and Mr. Schnelle prepared a <br />letter to be forwarded to legislators explaining inequities in Minnesota tax <br />laws and the need to change same. <br /> <br />Oamrnissioner Cox also stated that in lieu of his being elected to City <br />Council, he will be resigning from the Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />Commission consensus is that Ms. Norris request that Representative Hartinger <br />and Senator Greg Dahl attend a meeting of the Ramsey EDC in order that <br />concerns regarding Minnesota tax laws can be addressed. <br /> <br />b) Economic Subcornmi ttee - <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that he took a retail developer, who is interested <br />in developing north, on a tour of the City. Commissioner Fults stated that a <br />City synopsis would have been helpful and City Engineer Raatikka thought that <br />one had been written at one time and will try and track it down. <br /> <br />Commission Fults stated that he sees, with current development happening, that <br />little items in the charter create large problems for developers. <br /> <br />tit case #2: Review Of Officers Of Ramsey Economic Developnent Cgmpanv: <br /> <br />Commissioner Schmidt stated that he will not be able to serve as Treasurer of <br />the Economic Development Oornpany. Northern Bank is in the process of a <br />business transaction, which if it goes through, would prohibit the bank from <br />investing in the Economic Company if Mr. Schmidt is an officer in this <br />development company. Commissioner Glen Hardin is agreeable to serving as <br />TreaSUrer. <br /> <br />Commission is assuming that Jack Menkveld is not interested in continuing as <br />Assistant Treasurer. Commissioner Ken Wagner is agreeable to serving as <br />Assistant Treasurer. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg stated that he really does not have the time to devote as <br />President of the Economic Company, but he is willing to continue until the <br />company gets going and new officers can be elected. <br /> <br />Commissioner Schmidt dismissed himself from the meeting at 8:20 a.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris informed the Oamrnission that she would arrange for another meeting <br />of the Economic Development Company for the purpose of electing new officers. <br /> <br />case #:J; Discussion: North Metro Traffic Tasls Force: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that she attended a meeting of the North Metro Task Force <br />which is looking at all traffic flow patterns in the northwest area.
