Chairman Greenberg inquired <br />about guidelines for land write-downs. Ms. Norris replied that land write- <br />downs are fairly common and the only word of caution f rom the bond cousel <br />was that land write-down amounts do not exceed the current market value of <br />a property. Ms. Norris noted that City Council has authorized drafting a <br />preliminary agreement for the apartment project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Fults, <br />Wagner, Gorecki, Ippel, Kurak and Muller. Voting No: None. <br />Abstain: Commissioner Hardin. Absent: Commissioner Vevea. <br /> <br />wrE CITY C~IL MEEl'I~ MINUTES <br /> <br />The Commission noted the following: <br /> <br />I} Regular City Council meeting minutes dated February 9, 1988. <br /> <br />2. Special City Council meeting minutes dated February 17, 1988. <br /> <br />3. Regular City Council meeting minutes dated February 24, 1988. <br /> <br />Upon request, Ms. Norris provided Camnissioner Hardin with explanations of <br />two issues before City Council, CORCI'JA and charitable gambling licenses. <br /> <br />Chaiman Greenberg noted that Council minutes indicate there are MSA funds <br />available and suggested that an MSA road through Ramsey Industrial Park to <br />tie into Anoka' s McKinley Street be pursued. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris stated that the City Council Road and Bridge Committee reviews <br />uses for MSA funds. The City of Anoka Planning Commission has decided not <br />to extend McKinley Street west at this time. Ramsey would have to approach <br />Anoka City Council to pursue the extension of McKinley Street. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ippel stated that it is appropriate to follow up the sewer and <br />water investment in that industrial park with roads. <br /> <br />The Commission directed Ms. Norris to invite City Engineer Raatikka and the <br />City Council Road and Bridge Committee to the next regular Economic <br />Developnent Commission meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin requested being provided with a copy of the Road and <br />Bridge Committee's recormnendation for use of MSA funds. <br /> <br />A lengthy discussion ensued regarding the pros and cons of Waste Management <br />of Minnesota, Inc.'s proposal for development of a ski hill at the <br />landf ill. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults dismissed himself fran the meeting at 8: 33 a.m. <br />Economic Developnent Commission/March 9, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />
