Commissioner Ip~l noted that a considerable <br />amount of funds have been given to the Greater Minnesota Corporation <br />for the purpose of creating jobs. Ms. Norris stated that she attended <br />a meeting of the Greater Minnesota Corporation and it seems that the <br />organization is a tool for rural Minnesota. <br /> <br />Amendment by Commissioner Muller and seconded by Commissioner Ippel to <br />indicate in the letter to legislators that the funding for the Greater <br />Minnesota Corporation would be better used in the form of tax rebates <br />for commerCial/industrial pro~rties. <br /> <br />ftbtion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Hardin, <br />Wagner, Gorecki, Ippel, Kurak and Muller. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Fults and Vevea. <br /> <br />b) Economic and Finance SUbconnnittee - <br /> <br />No report at this time. <br />c) Publicit,y Subcommittee - <br />Commissioner Ip~l reported that the Ramsey videos are completed. <br /> <br />d) 'Rm~iness Incubator Subcommittee - <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ip~l reported that the issue of business incubators continues <br />to be researched. <br /> <br />e) Frontage Road SUbcommittee - <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg requested that the Frontage Road Subcommittee meet and <br />review the Hwy. #10 Corridor Study to determine issues that should be <br />discussed with the City Council Road and Bridge Committee at the April EDC <br />meeting. The meeting with City Council Road and Bridge Committee should <br />be followed up by meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hardin provided the Commission with his written suggestions <br />for implementation of recommendations coming out of the Hwy. #10 study. <br /> <br />The Commission scheduled a special meeting for 7: 30 a.m. on March 30 at <br />which each commissioner should present their suggestions for implementing <br />the Hwy. #10 study. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gorecki requested that Ms. Norris issue a letter to the <br />Frontage Road Subcommittee indicating that the Commission has di rected it <br />to meet regarding the Hwy. #10 study. <br /> <br />Case #2: Discussion Regarding Property Tax Reform Proposals: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />This case was discussed during the LegiSlative Subcommittee report. <br />Economic Developnent Conunission/March 9, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
