Have questions about the City of Ramsey?
Follow the Frequently Asked
Questions Facebook series.
Each week, there is a new
question and answer. Topics
range from fire safety to
recreation, utilities and streets
maintenance. Do you have a
question you want answered?
Send that question to the Communications Coordinator at
yjohnsonna cityoframsey.com and watch for the answer on
Facebook. Follow us at www.facebook.com/ramsev citvof.
Question
Are all water towers required to have lights on top ?
Answer
The Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA)
generally requires lights on
towers over 200 feet above
ground level or near an airport.
The City of Ramsey maintains
lights on top of water towers #2 and #3 since these
towers are more than 200 feet tall. The City stopped
replacing bulbs in water tower #1 in 2021 since this
tower is about 150 feet tall.
Adopt -A -Flag
Public Works crews
place American flags
on the light poles along
Sunwood Drive NW
shortly before Memorial
Day, adding beauty day
and night and take them
down after Veterans Day.
Did you know you can
sponsor one of these flags
to show civic pride or honor a loved one's memory?
Your one-time donation will be acknowledged with an
engraved nameplate displayed in City Hall and at a City
Council meeting.
There are two Adopt -A -Flag patronage levels. Friends
of the Flag is $50 and sponsors one of the 2-foot by 3-foot
flags. The other is the Patriot Sponsorship, at $500. That flag
is 3 feet by 5 feet and is in the intersections in the COR.
For more information about the Adopt -A -Flag program,
visit our website at www.cityoframsey.com/778 or contact
Kathy at kschmitzna cityoframsev com or 763-433-9844.
lop IP
,y FLAG
J p0 od Drive
on su Q
wwwcityvfrumseycorN7,78 RAMSEY
Attachments
Flyer: The Draw Summer Concert Series
Flyer: We're Hiring
Flyer: Two Rivers Art Fair
Flyer: Food Truck Wednesday
Flyer: 2025 Business Appreciation Day
Press Release: Bike Valet Program Returns to Anoka
County Fair
Press Release: Family Child Care Resources Fair Planned
for August 16
Best regards,
7-(F.-rs
Brian Hagen
City Administrator
CITY OF RAMSEY City UPDATE July 11, 2025 4
