<br />Commissioners Vevea and Ippel. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults dismissed himself from the meeting at 8:35 a.m. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Case #6: Discussion Of Metro Council Statistics Reiardini Ramsey: <br /> <br />Commissioner Kurak referred to some statistics published by Metro Council. <br />Commissioner Kurak stated that many of the statistics are incorrect, <br />especially those relating to growth projections and employment; that <br />incorrect information coupled with Ramsey's lack of identiy is a hazard <br />when it comes to making a decision on the siting of another landfill. <br />Metro Council should be made aware that there is activity and development <br />happening in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg noted that a lot of the correct statistics will be <br />accumulated during the business retention survey and they can be forwarded <br />to Metro Council. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris waS directed to contact Metro Council to determine what <br />supporting documentation they will require in order to revise their <br />statistics. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kurak requested that Ms. Norris research the status of the <br />Ramsey destination signs and suggested that the City also invest in some <br />destination signs to be posted on major highways nearer the center of the <br />metro area. <br /> <br />Commissioner Gorecki noted that a lot of Ramsey's identity problems are <br />caused by confusing City of Ramsey and County of Ramsey. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Case #5: Information Items: <br /> <br />The Commission noted information items contained in the agenda. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of the City having a booth at <br />the Game Fair. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Kurak and seconded by Commissioner Hardin to <br />recommend that the City arrange to rent a booth at the Game Fair; that <br />local developers be contacted to man the booth for the purpose of informing <br />vistors in an objective manner of ongoing development within the City; that <br />each development represented at the booth will be charged $35 to cover <br />booth and equipment costs; that the City will provide a video of Ramsey to <br />be displayed at the booth. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Commissioner Hardin stated that posting "Welcome To <br />Ramsey" banners on the highway during the Game Fair will promote the City's <br />identity. Discussion ensued regarding who should contact the developers <br />regarding participating in the booth at the Game Fair. Mr. Raudio arrived <br />and volunteered to assist Commissioners Kurak and Ippe1 in contacting <br />developers. <br /> <br />'y <br /> <br />Motion carried.
