INCREASING OUR
RECYCLING
CAPABiliTIES

As the residents of Ramsey continue to
become more involved in the recycling
programs, the City needs to provide timely
and quality information as to what is
recyclable and what is not. This need for
information is further emphasized by the
manufacturer placing the recycling emblem or
the words recyclable on their packaging.
Manufacturers place the recycling emblem
on many different types of packaging and in
fact most materials are recyclable. However,
a material cannot be recycled if there is no
market for the end product. Just as the Ford
Motor Company learned with the Edsel; if
people will not buy a product, don't produce
it. The same goes for plastic wraps and
plastic bags. The market for these materials
is very limited and so they cannot be recycled
in the curbside program.
Please follow the guidelines listed below
when preparing your materials. When you
purchase products from stores, please make
every effort to choose products with
recyclable packaging.
curbside by 7:00 a.m. the morning of your
pick-up.
free to contact Jim Gromberg, Project
Manager, at the Ramsey Municipal Center at
