<br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Ramsey3 (McKnight Grant) <br />By: Patrick Trudgeon, AICP, Community <br />Development Director <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City Council will recall that this past summer, the McKnight Foundation awarded the City <br />of Ramsey a $50,000.00 grant to initiate the Ramsey3 project. Ramsey3 is a unique undertaking <br />by the City to provide information to citizens, business leaders, and policy makers that will assist <br />the whole community in charting its course for its future. Ramsef will begin with the hosting of <br />four forums that will educate the community on important issues facing Ramsey. The topics of <br />the forums will be Regional Intersections, Community Ecology, Innovative Zoning, and <br />Transportation Alternatives. The forums will begin in February 2007 and conclude in April <br />2007. <br /> <br />Subsequent to the forums, the City will host a VISIOnIng session utilizing Open Space <br />Technology, an innovative public participation process. The visioning process will allow for all <br />participants to discuss what makes Ramsey great and what needs to be done to maintain the <br />positive assets of Ramsey. The last part of the Ramsey3 process will be the implementation of <br />the vision created in the public participation process. <br /> <br />The Ramsef steering committee will be present at the work session to provide the City Council with an <br />update on the project and to answer any questions that the City Council may have.
