Chairperson Elvig inquired if Mr. Boos felt the bid numbers were reasonable to which Mr. Boos <br />replied yes. <br /> <br />Finance Office Lund reported that the repairs would be paid out of the Equipment Revolving <br />Fund and asked that the Finance Committee recommend Council adopt a resolution authorizing <br />that action. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Strommen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to <br />recommend that City Council adopt a resolution awarding contract for roof repairs to City <br />buildings to Four Seasons in an amount of $33,291; <br /> <br />alld - <br /> <br />To recommend that Council authorize staff to proceed with replacement of the soffit lights for <br />both park buildings at a not-to-exceed amount of $5,000; <br /> <br />and - <br /> <br />To recommend that City Council adopt a resolution authorizing funds from the Equipment <br />Revolving Fund be used for these repairs. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmembers Strommen and Zimmerman. <br />Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Authorizing Transfer from Equipment Replacement Fund for the Purchase <br />of Computers <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund reported that 10 new desktop computers had been purchased and installed. <br />Staff is requesting additional funds (up to $15,000) be transferred from the Equipment <br />Replacement Fund to purchase additional desktop computers to allow for more efficient use of <br />various software programs, e-mail and on-line resources. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman and seconded by Councilmember Strommen to <br />recommend Council adopt a resolution authorizing the transfer of up to $15,000 from the <br />Equipment Replacement Fund for the purchase of desktop computers. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Elvig inquired about what more may be needed. Assistant <br />City Administrator Heidi Nelson responded that the City would have what it needs for now. The <br />document imaging program raised issues - it bogged down the system, etc. The biggest <br />challenge this year was also the number of staff with outdated systems. The plan is to budget for <br />a number of replacement computers each year to be on a better schedule. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Councilmembers Elvig, Zimmerman and Strommen.
