RAMSEY SENIOR CITIZENS

The Ramsey Senior Citizens Club met for their Christmas
party and there were 50 members and friends present to
enjoy a delicious luncheon and Christmas activities.
Among those present were Mayor Gary Reimann and his
wife, Beverly, and Ramsey Lions Leo LeTourneau, Jack Kir-
chner, Merle Mevissen and Lowell Beckenbach. The Seniors
appreciate all that the local businessmen do for them
throughout the year.
The Christmas activities include singing Christmas carols,
exchanging gifts and Mayor Reimann calling out the win-
ners of door prizes.
Thanks to all who came and helped make this a fun day.
By: Bruce Bacon

CITIZENS, SEASONS GREETINGS:

On Monday, December 5, I was invited by the Northfork
Homeowner's Association for an information program on oak
wilt disease. Dr. David French, foremost researcher on oak
wilt fungus and disease control, gave a slide show and in-
formative talk. Jeannette Monear, Anoka County Extension
Division specialist on oak wilt and pine tree diseases was
also present. She invites residents with questions to call her
at Bunker Hills Activity Center, 755-1280.
If you would like to host a neighborhood meeting about
tree care and tree diseases, brush chipping, burning per-
mits and back yard waste composting/mulching, call Bruce
Bacon, 753-5097 and he will help arrange a program for your
neighborhood interest.
Please remember, if you have dead and stressed pine trees
from the summer, you should plan to remove them before
spring. You may also need to thin out your dense stands
of pines; this helps them respond to the drought. If you have
trees larger than 6" in diameter, cut the trunks into 100"
sections; they can be used or sold for poles and posts.
Please feel free to call me at 753-5097 if you desire fur-
ther information and recommendations.
ANOKA/RAMSEY SPORTS CENTER

On October 15, 1988, John Noard celebrated the grand
opening of his new 3/4 million dollar Anoka/Ramsey Sports
Center on Hwy. #10. The new facility contains 14,500 square
feet of showroom, parts and service area. Anoka/Ramsey
Sports Center is a dealership for Ski-Doo and Artie Cat
snowmobiles, Kawasaki and Suzuki motorcycles and ATV's,
and Jet-Ski and Sea-Doo personal watercrafts.
The facility employs 11 full-time persons. All of the
mechanics are Vo- Tech graduates who continually participate
in manufacturer seminars and training programs to keep up
to date on changing technology.
Prior to purchasing Anoka Sports Center in 1986, John
Noard was a professional motorcycle racer; driving, design-
ing and building his own bikes. In just two years, John
outgrew his 7,000 square foot facility.
John is very enthusiastic about the new facility and feels
it provides the customer with excellent access, parking and
a quality environment for shopping and repairs. The move
was a good one; his snowmobile sales are 3 times higher
year to date than in all of 1987. Hard work and promotion
skills have made AnokalRamsey Sports Center the largest
Jet-Ski dealer in the 7 state area and the largest Sea-Doo
dealer in the world. John's goal is to cater to his customers,
offering a choice of quality products and the type of pro-
ducts currently in demand.
