<br />ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
<br />Story times .. Story times are
<br />held for children age 31/2
<br />through 6, including children
<br />presently in kindergarten.
<br />Stories, songs, films, flannel
<br />boards, and fingerplays will be
<br />part of these 30 minute ses-
<br />sions. Six weekly story times
<br />will be held beginning January
<br />14 and will run through
<br />February 19. Registration
<br />begins January 7 for story-
<br />times on Tuesdays at 11 a,m.
<br />or Wednesdays at 11 a.m. or
<br />1 :30 p.m. To register, call the
<br />library at 421-5800 or stop by
<br />and register in person. Ses-
<br />sions are limited to 30 children
<br />in each.
<br />Also, a special Christmas
<br />story time will be held Tues-
<br />day, Dec. 10 and Wednesday,

<br />Theatre Trip .. The Anoka
<br />Public Library is sponsoring a
<br />trip to see the Chimera
<br />Theatre's special holiday per-
<br />formance of "Rip Van Winkle"
<br />on Saturday, Dec. 14. This
<br />world premiere adaptation of
<br />Washington Irving's classic
<br />American folk tale is certain to
<br />please the entire family! The
<br />trip is for adults and children
<br />age 4 and older. Children
<br />under the age of 6 must be ac-
<br />companied by an adult. The
<br />cost is $5 for children and
<br />$6.50 for adults. This includes
<br />the play ticket and round trip
<br />bus fare~ The-bus will leave the
<br />library at 12:45 p.m. for a 2 p.m.
<br />performance, and will return to
<br />the library at approximately
<br />4:30 p.m. Tickets will go on
<br />sale November 5 on' a first
<br />corne, first serve basis. Re-

<br />ADULT SECTION
<br />Videocassettes Available at
<br />Library.. Our collection of ren-
<br />tal videocassettes is growing
<br />every month! We now have
<br />over 125 different titles avail-
<br />able for rent. The cassettes
<br />circulated are 1/2 inch VHS for-
<br />mat and can be played on VHS
<br />equipment only. Special regis-
<br />tration is required to borrow
<br />the videocassettes. To reg-
<br />ister, present your library card
<br />plus a second form of iden-
<br />tification with your name and
<br />address. Borrowers must be
<br />18 years or older. Video-
<br />cassettes are available on a
<br />first come, first serve basis.
<br />There are no renewals,. ad-
<br />vance bookings or reserves.
<br />You may borrow up to two
<br />titles at one time. There is a $1
<br />per title per day charge. To

<br />The Anoka Public Library now
<br />has available a coin-operated
<br />Apple lie personal computer
<br />with dual disc drive, screen
<br />display and printer. The com-
<br />puter is an enhanced version
<br />with checkmate ext. memory
<br />card for Appleworks. The
<br />possibilities are almost end-
<br />less as to what you can learn
<br />and do with a computer. "It is
<br />available for use during
<br />regular library hours on a first
<br />come, first serve basis. Disk-
<br />ettes are on sale at the Infor-
<br />mation Desk in the library for'

<br />able .. The Homebound Pro-
<br />gram of the Anoka Public
<br />Library needs peo'p'le, who, be-
<br />cause of age or physical dis,
<br />ability, are unable to come to
<br />the library. The program pro-
<br />vides all of the free services of
<br />the library to the client free of
<br />any charge. 'We have books,
<br />recordings, periodicals and art
<br />work that you can have
<br />brought to your home by a
<br />volunteer. Call today, 421-

<br />bound Coordinator. Volun-
