PLANNING AND ZONING COM~IISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing on
Thursday, July 7, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 N~;then Blvd.
N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Mr. Dennis Holmquist's request for
rezoning from Residential to B-1 Business.

Members Present:

Mr. Gerald Zin~erman, Chairman
Mr. Roy Shumway
Mr. Michael Terry
Mr. Charles LaDue
Mr. Terry Hendriksen
Mr. Jim Howell

Also Present:

Community Development Director Anne Norris

Members Absent: Mr. Jim Holm

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman Zimmerman called the public hearing to order at 8:44 p.mo

CITIZEN INPUT

Mr. Neil Pratt - 6328 Hwy. #10 N.W. - Stated that the subject property
abuts his and a business in his backyard is unreasonable; it will lower his
property value. A similar request was denied about 5 years ago; what does
DNR say about this?

Glen Aufderhar - 16315 Rivlyn Avenue - Stated that a road is currently
being developed in the area; it seems with development, his property is
getting pushed further and further back and he is opposed to the rezoning.

Dennis Holmquist - 5900 Norwood Lane - Plymouth - Explained that he is
proposing a lot split; one-half of the lot will remain residential use and
the other half will be rezoned to B-1 Business to accomodate a small office
building.

Mr. Pratt - Stated that he is concerned that the plans to construct a small
office building will change to some other B-1 use once the rezoning is
approved.

Ms. Norris stated that issuing a conditional use permit, rather than
rezoning, would limit the type of use allowed on the property.

Planning & Zoning Commission Public Hearing/July 7, 1988
