I: I The city council held a meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 1984 and as one of the first items of business, Mayor Gamec noted that Mr. Jeffrey Parks declined Ramsey's of- fer for employment as an of- ficer and Chief Auspos recommended that the posi- tion be offered to Mr. James Way. Council passed a mo- tion to offer Mr. James Way a position' on the Ramsey Police Force. The council then proceed- ed to get into a lengthy discussion regarding recom- mended salaries and fringe benefits for city employees for'1985. Motion passed, 3 to 2 to set the 1985 salaries for city staff employees. Motions were passed to not increase employee health benefits and to direct the 1985 Personnel Committee to review city or- dinance pertaining to sick leave. Resolution No. 84-258 was adopted changing the job positions of two employees; Resolution No. 84.259 was adopted setting salary in. creases for 1985 for part-time employees; Resolution No. 84.260 was adopted setting salary ranges for all city posi. tions. The council adopted Resolution No. 84-253 to amend the police budget by $250; Resolution No. 84-254 intrOdUCing Ordinance No. 84-21 to deed back to Ramsey Center Partnership, from the City of Ramsey, excess pro- perty received for the Rum River Bridge Crossing right. of-way;'Resolution No. 84-255 ordering feasibility report for extension of municipal ser- vices to River's Bend Second Addition located at Hwy. No. 47 and Cty. Road No. 116; Resolution No. 84-256 adop- ting the City's 1985 Opera. tional Budget; and Resolution No. 84-257 adopting the City's Five Year Long Term Finan- cial Plan. A motion was also passed to enter into a development agreement with the developers of the Rum River Hills P.U.D. The' city council met on January 8, 1985 and Mayor Heitman and' Councilmem- bers Cox and Sorteberg were sworn in. Councilmember Reimann was reappointed as Acting Mayor for 1985; Mayor Heitman and Councilmember Sorteberg were appointed to the 1985 Budget Commit- tee; Councilmembers Rei. mann and Sorteberg were appointed to the 1985 Person- nel Committee; Council- member Schlueter was' ap. pointed Board of Adjustment Chairperson; Councilmember Cox was appointed Board of Adjustment Vice-Chair- person; Councilmember Sorteberg was appointed Board of Adjustment Secre- tary; the Anoka County. Uni9n was designated as Ramsey's official newspaper; Mr. Peter Raatikka of Hakanson Ander, son was reappointed to City Engineer; Mr. William Goodrich of Randall, Dehn and Goodrich was reap- pointed to City Attorney; Dr. Ronald Jankowski was ap- pointed City Health Officer; and Resolution No. 85-1 was adopted naming depositories for city funds.
