<br /> <br />DOG CLINIC <br /> <br />A Dog Clinic will be held at <br />Ramsey City Hall Maintenance <br />Garage on Saturday, September <br />17th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 <br />noon. Shots and dog licenses will be <br />available. <br /> <br />Ra/;ies $4.00 <br />Distemper <br />$6.00 <br /> <br /> <br />~:s..- <br />-.-:---... <br /> <br />----" <br /> <br />_.'".--_.~~. ~--- <br /> <br />The City's Dog Catcher is BLAINE MIDWAY ALL PETS <br />located in Blaine. For problems with stray dogs, direct calls to the <br />City Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., after <br />. office hours call 427-1212 (police emergency). <br />Note: The dog catcher urges persons to make every attempt to <br />contain stray dogs in some manner until he can pick it up. In <br />many cases where the dogs are not contained, by the time he <br />arrives, the' dog has disappeared and the trip is wasted. Your <br />cooperation will be sincerely appreciated. . <br />For missing dogs, you may call Blaine Midway direct to see if <br />they may have found the dog. The number is 784-3669. <br />REMINDER <br />The City has' a leash law and this law pertains to both day and <br />night. <br />DOG LICENSES: Dogs six months and older are required to have <br />a license. Licenses are $3.00 for two years for male dogs or <br />spayed female dogs and $5.00 for two years for unspayed <br />females. The license may be purchased at City Hall during <br />business hours or at the quarterly dog clinic. A current rabies <br />certificate must be presented at the time the license is applied for; <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SCHOOL <br />NEWS <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The summer of '77 found more than 300 Ramsey area youth involved <br />in a variety of educational activities. Over 150 boys and girls participated <br />in the summer baseball programs which stressed fundamentals and included <br />game situations. Ramsey also had a teen softball team which gave fifteen <br />area teens a chance to learn the game and compete with other Anoka area <br />teams. In addition to the baseball program, Morning Playground and <br />Afternoon Leisure Time Activities were held along with a Tiny Tots <br />program for pre-schoolers. A few highlights of these programs included <br />field trips to the University of Minnesota's Peppermint Tent Theatre and <br />Touch and See Museum. Along with these field trips were various arts, <br />crafts. and other recreational games and activities. All in all,the summer of <br />'77 meant hours of enjoyment for a large number of Ramsey youth. <br />FALL OFFERINGS <br />YO UTH-This fall offeres a variety of enrichment opportunities for <br />pre-schoolers and primary graders including Games Club, Dram Club, Kids <br />Cooking, Story Hour. Ceramics, Soccer, Gymnastics and others. <br />TEENS-In addition to the open gym night for teens, Ramsey again oHeres <br />Snowmobile Safety and Fire Arms Safety this fall. <br />AD U L TS-The Adult program also includes a variety of crafts and <br />rec reational offerings including Quilting, Cake D~corating, Couples <br />Volleyball, Bridge Club and many more. <br />ADVISORY COUNCI L <br />Here's a chance to become involved with Community Schools. If you are <br />interested in your community and would like to meet some Ramsey <br />residents come to the first Community School Advisory Council meeting <br />on September 8th at 7:30 p.m. in the teachers lounge at Ramsey <br />Community School. <br />REflSTRATION <br />Brochures have been mailed and flyers have been sent home with the kids <br />outlining the Community School Fall Schedule. If anyone did not receive <br />a Brochure please call the Ramsey Community School office between 1:00 <br />and 5: 00 p.m. to request a flyer be sent out. <br />Phone registration is as follows: <br />September 14.15,16 <br />From 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br />Ramsey Community School <br />427-9350 <br /> <br />HOLIDAY CRAFTS <br />In addition to the regular fall offerings, Ramsey will again hold a number <br />of Holiday Craft Classes including Christmas macrame and a class on how <br />to handmake your own Christmas gifts. Look for the District 11 brochure <br />for further information or call 427-9350. <br /> <br />lNflEW (CIiJIY ST AJFf <br /> <br />'~h. <br /> <br />Sheila Beyer began employment with the City on August 15, <br />1~77 in the clerical department. She is originally from Cloquet. <br />Minnesota and moved to the Twin City area after high school <br />graduation. <br />Sheila and her husband Harlan, and three children Jason <br />Jennifer and Jeffrey have lived- in the City of Ramsey for fiv~ <br />years. <br /> <br />Clayton Berg is the City'S new building official. Clayton and <br />his wife Kathy and two children Daphne and Clinton, reside in <br />Elk River and was preViously employed as Assistant City Engineer <br />for the City of Columbia Heights for 11 years. <br />Clayton Berg is a certified building official and he is presently <br />working on completion of his Associate of Arts and Building <br />Technology Degree. <br />
