<br />Advisory Board Being Formed. <br /> <br />A RAMSEY COMMUNITY SCHOOL ADVISORY BOARD . <br />. . Plans are underway to organize a schoo1- <br />community Advisory Council. We would like it <br />to be a representative group of citizens <br />residing or working in Ramsey. It should <br />ideally consist of representatives from the <br />community at large to ensure full community <br />representation. <br />The purpose of the Council is to meet <br />together to help coordinate and plan for the <br />education - recreational development of our <br />school and community. It is a vehicle for <br />communcating thoughts and providing input <br />from the community to the Principal, <br />Community School Director and curriculum <br />department related to curriculum. The <br />Counci 1 wi 11 recommend those programs, <br />activities and/or classes that enhance the <br />growth of the individual and the overall <br />betterment of the school and the community. <br />If you are interested in becoming a member <br />of the Ramsey Advisory Council please call <br />the Ramsey Community School Office and leave <br />your name, address, phone number and which <br />development you live in. <br /> <br />. SPOTLIGHT on 4 Year Olds <br /> <br />Do you have a 4 year old child? Ramsey <br />School is having an exciting new adventure <br />for these children this spring! <br />The media center is sponsoring a story time <br />for pre-schoo1ers of age 4. It will be held <br />in May. We1re looking forward to meeting <br />your child. <br />The day and time will be sent to those who <br />wi sh to attend. Mr. Riefenberger wi 11 meet <br />with the parents. We hope you and your child <br />will be joining us for our springtime <br />adventure. <br />Please return this information form to <br />Ramsey School by April 1st. <br /> <br />Youth Organ ization Formed. <br /> <br />Recently, the youth of Ramsey have formed <br />their own youth organization. Their main <br />function is to plan and organize activities <br />for junior and senior high students living in <br />Ramsey.. They work wi th the Ramsey Commun i ty <br />School Director in developing their programs <br />and give input into the existing programs. <br />They wi 11 be meeting every other Thursday <br />evening at 7:00-8:00 at Ramsey School. <br />Officers are: Keith Olson, Paul Matt, and <br />Robin Coder. <br />If you Warlt more information please call <br />one of the officers or Ramsey Community <br />School at 427-9350. <br /> <br />I HELP!!!!!!! I <br /> <br />Our Very Own Ramsey Family Fun Day is in <br />the making and we need everyone's help. <br />Proceeds wi 11 go to the student act iv ity <br />fund at Ramsey Elementary. <br />There will be fun and games from 1:00 to <br />5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 1976. <br />Adults will be needed to sell raffle <br />tickets for a side of beef, and students will <br />be needed to sell raffle tickets for a <br />bicycle. Tickets are available from Mimi <br />Peterson, 421-6066. <br />One of our attract ions wi 11 be a country <br />store. For this we need plant slips, baked <br />goods, arts and crafts, home canned goods, <br />etc. Contact Jan Pieper, 427-5716, as soon <br />as possible. <br />Volunteers are also needed to solicit Anoka <br />businesses for bingo prizes. Call Anne <br />Madison, 427-9354. <br />Ramsey organizations and clubs will be in <br />charge of the booths. When you are <br />contacted, please respond. <br />If you are unable to reach the above <br />numbers, contact Ramsey Community School at <br />427-9350. <br /> <br />. Report on Winter Programs <br /> <br />The youth classes were a tremendous success <br />with 15 classes offered and 250 students <br />involved. Another 100 students were involved <br />in girls basketball, the pre-school program <br />and open gym. <br />There were 48 adults involved in the 5 <br />adult classes that filled and another 20-30 <br />adults participating in the co-ed volleyball. <br />As well as the community school classes the <br />building was busy accomodating community <br />groups and organizations needing a place to <br />meet or play in the gym. . <br />A Ramsey Youth Organization was organized <br />with over 20 regular members planning their. <br />own activities and programs. <br /> <br />Ramsey Report is published through the communication <br />department of School District No. 11. <br /> <br />RAMSEY CITY COUNCIL <br />Gary Gorham <br />Gary Reimann <br />David Mickelson <br />Beverly Oliphant <br /> <br />SCHOOL BOARD <br />A.G.
